Your safety is important to us. Here are practical tips for staying safe when connecting with others through Emo Kids Connect.
Practical Tips for Staying Safe
- Meet in a public, well-lit place and tell a friend where you're going.
- Arrange your own transport — do not accept rides from someone you just met.
- Consider a video call before meeting in person to confirm identity.
- Share your location with a trusted contact during the meeting.
- Don't share sensitive info — home address, financial info, social security number, or other highly personal details.
- Trust your instincts — if you feel uncomfortable, end the meeting.
- Report abusive or suspicious behavior in the app and preserve screenshots if you may report to police.
Age Policy
Minimum age: 18 years old. Users must provide date of birth at signup.
Current verification: self-declaration only. We recommend adding phone verification or optional ID verification later to reduce underage accounts.
If we discover an account belongs to someone under 18 we will suspend and delete the account and associated profile content promptly, except where retention is necessary for safety/legal reasons.
Consequences for lying: suspension/termination and potential blocking of contact/email/phone and device-based measures. We will cooperate with law enforcement if required.
Reporting suspected minors: use the in-app report function; we will review promptly and take action.
